Chelsea fans celebrate Champions League 2020/21
Roman Abramovich’s close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin got Chelsea in trouble when Russia attacked Ukraine. To protect the club’s image, Abramovich recently issued a notice to hand over all management rights to the Chelsea Charity Foundation.
However, it doesn’t stop there. Congressman Chris Bryant revealed that the Russian billionaire fears his assets – including Chelsea and Stamford Bridge – will be confiscated. Abramovich is therefore in the process of looking to sell the Blues and the many properties he owns in London.
Recently, Swiss billionaire – Hansjorg Wyss revealed: “Abramovich is one of Putin’s closest advisers and friends. Like all tycoons, he too fell into a state of panic.
Abramovich is trying to sell all his assets in the UK. He also wants to get out of Chelsea quickly. Me and 3 others received an offer to buy Chelsea from Abramovich on Tuesday. ”
When asked about the possibility of buying Chelsea, Wyss said: “Abramovich is asking too much right now. You know Chelsea owes him £2 billion? But Chelsea has no money, which means whoever buys Chelsea must compensate Abramovich.
As of today, we do not know the exact selling price.
I can envision starting at Chelsea with partners, but I have to check the general conditions first. But what I can say for sure is that I wouldn’t do things like this alone. If I buy Chelsea, it will be with a consortium of six or seven investors.”
