Former player Lee Dixon said that the Emirates Stadium team still needs to improve their performance.

Arteta speaks after the win against Aston Villa

In view of Lee Dixon, Arsenal have gone through a really impressive series of matches before entering the international break. He said, the Gunners have played well against two big teams, Liverpool and Manchester City, but coach Mikel Arteta’s teachers and students need to avoid a defeat when clashing with big clubs.

Talking through the Seaman Says podcast, the former Arsenal player shared (quoted by Metro):

“I look at the teams they’ve faced [recently]. The only two strong teams among them are Liverpool and Man City, and they’ve lost both.”

Mikel Arteta says the players

Arteta’s teachers and students have not been able to achieve positive results against big teams.

“Actually they played well against Man City, but failed. They also played really well against Liverpool in the first half, and still failed.”

“All the other games they should win, the only tough confrontation there is West Ham.”

“If Arsenal had a few more defeats in that streak, you would say ‘They shouldn’t have lost games like that’. So I still think they need to play well against big teams like this one. the way they did, but they have to gain something from these games.”

“That’s the only worrying sign for me, is when Arsenal play against a big team, they start the game well, but they can’t win.”
